Adulterants
Adulterants are merely common household products such as salt, bleach, eye
drops, lemon juice, dish washing soap, vinegar, etc., placed in a sample in
an effort to mask the trace of drugs in the urine. They can also be detected
with simple lab tests. Laboratories have grown wise to the use of adulterants,
and for this reason samples are regularly tested for their presence. Your
sample could be tested for pH, creatinine, specific gravity and/or temperature.
Labs will also inspect the color, consistency and odor of a sample. Any adulterant
can affect the physical characteristics of your sample, resulting in further
testing and scrutiny.
